VOLUNTEERING

Without the time, dedication and commitment volunteers demonstrate each and every week across our county, clubs and leagues would simply not exist and Astley Bridge FC is no different.
Our army of volunteers work tirelessly to make training and matches happen every week, and in doing so aid the development of all our club members.
It’s usually the case that a few people at a club do a lot of the work. If you’re in this position it can often feel overwhelming. There are a variety of reasons to volunteer and recruiting new volunteers with the right skills to help out can be a significant boost to any club.
There are a variety of roles, from administrative tasks like managing finances and organising fixtures to hands-on coaching and providing first aid.
Volunteering in grassroots football provides valuable experience, enhances skills, and contributes to the community. All of our volunteers are DBS checked, and have First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications.
Having been around football all my life, from playing at various levels in England and France, to being coached from an early age by my own dad… My coaching journey has been by far the most rewarding; mentally, emotionally and spiritually, seeing not only my own two boys fall in love with the game, but also the many others I’ve coached over a 30 year period!
The opportunity to see the young people develop not only on a football pitch but into such wonderful humans is an amazing thing to witness, it’s an absolute honour to say I’m a coach and manager at Astley Bridge FC.
